Our Favorite Jams

All our jam spreads are as true to the fruit as we can make them.   What does this mean to you?  It means that if the fruit has small edible seeds, then so does the jam.

Apricot Jam

This year we have had the exceptional luck to hook up with Bill's Fruits for some amazing Tomcot Apricots.  If you have met us at the market, you have probably had the opportunity to try this amazing spread.  The Tomcots were grown outside Yakima, and harvested late in June.  We will be making more jam as well from Perfection Apricots as they become available.

Apricot-Raspberry Jam

As the Raspberries started to come in, Nicholas and I were intrigued by the prospect of mixing these amazing fruits.  The result is a tangy jam featuring Rival Apricots (grown near Yakima) from Bill's Fruits and fresh non-sprayed Raspberries from Sidhu Farm in Puyallup, WA.

Bing Cherry Jam

Known usually as a table cherry, this jam is a sweet refreshing change from the usual.  It can be spread on toast, or combined with yogurt or cottage cheese for a delicious change of pace.  This year our Bings come exclusively from First Fruit in East Wenatchee, Pedro's Family Peppers and Produce from Wapato, and  Bill's Fruit out of Yakima.  These exceptional cherries are filled with juice and flavor.  Truly a pleasure to work with.

  Gooseberry

A special jam for us.  These gooseberries are grown in Lynden at McPhail's Farm.  Truly a wonderful tart fruit, with a great berry flavor.  Our quantities are extremely limited by the annual harvest, so try it while it while it is still available.  This year we were lucky enough to obtain both Red and Green Gooseberries for your tasting pleasure.  (Please specify which one you would like in your order).

  Loganberry Jam

The Loganberry is a blackberry that his been part of the Washington landscape for years.  Once commonly grown here in Washington, it has become harder and harder to find.  Our Logans are grown by Duris Farm in Puyallup, WA.  Picked at the peak of ripeness, the flavor of these berries can not be beat.

  Marionberry Jam

The Marion Blackberry, originally created in Oregon in the 1950's is a favorite for many along the Pacific Coast.  This year, the berries have been so ripe and full of flavor from the Sidhu Farm in Puyallup, that we decided not to jelly them, but instead make a special jam that captures the true flavor of these unique blackberries.

  Peach Jam

Last year we presented Peach Jelly, but for all the work involved, we have found the peach jam has more flavor both immediately and over months in the closet.  We decided to switch to the jam also because the new peaches coming in this year are so juicy and flavorful we do not want to loose any of the delicate flavor in the jellying process.  Thanks to Bill's Fruit, providing us with peaches from Yakima, we have an exceptional selection of Peach Jams to enjoy.

  Pear Jam

Featuring Bartlett pear jam, we hand chop all our pears with care, which results in a delicious, slightly tangy, Pear spread.  It is not too sweet, and can either be spread on toast or used in a tart for exceptional flavor.  This year our Bartlett's come from Martin Family Orchards from Orondo, Bautista Farm from Yakima, and Acma Orchards from Quincy.   Come by our stand and try them yourself.

  Plum -Plain or Spiced

Again this year we will be offering Italian Prune Plum Jam, both Plain and Spiced.  So far, we have been able to get a few early plums from Jones Creek Farm in Lyman, WA.  They are everything we could hope for: juicy, flavorful and perfectly ripe.  For our later plums we have been lucky to get our fruit from  Ennis Farm in E. Wenatchee, WA.  Please specify which variety you would like when you order.

  Raspberry Jam

A rather seedy fruit, with intense flavor.  We hand picked some of our raspberries in Carnation, and rushed home to make an intense jam that tastes just like the berries off the bush.  The additional berries we use come from Sidhu Farm in Puyallup.  These berries are not sprayed, and like the ones we pick, are lush and full of flavor, ready to be jammed for exceptional taste.

  Raspberry-Red Currant Jam

Intrigued by the luscious mix of Raspberries and Black Currants, we decided to try switching it up and blending our Raspberries with the Red Currant at well.  While my mom may prefer the other blend, this has to be my favorite of the new season.  It is tart and tangy, and perfect on toast in the morning.

  Raspberry-Cherry Jam

Another enthusiastic customer at the Kirkland Market encouraged us to try this blend.  We were skeptical at best, but finally found a cherry we liked to mix with the raspberries.  This jam is a blend of mostly raspberries with a touch of either Bing Cherries we received from Orondo, WA. or Rainier Cherries from Yakima.  The Cherries sweeten the Raspberries perfectly, without loosing their individual taste.

  Raspberry-Rhubarb Jam

It all started with Strawberry Rhubarb.  The blend went over so well, we thought we would try a tart version with Raspberries instead.  The result was a hit!  Not quite as sweet as the strawberry-rhubarb jam, it features a lovely tangy raspberry flavor balanced with tart fresh rhubarb grown by our friends at Sidhu Farm in Puyallup.

  Red Currant Jam

Again, this year we were lucky enough to purchase some wonderful, juicy red currants from McPhail's Berry Farm.  This year we are jamming the berries, enjoying the rich, tart flavor they give.  This jam is wonderful for cooking with, as it can be used in Cumberland Sauce or as a marinade for fish.  For me, I just love to eat it right from the pot!

  Spiced Pear-Apple Jam

A new family favorite that we created this fall, our Spiced Pear-Apple Jam is a blend on d'Anjou pears and Pink Lady Apples.  Cooked over a low heat with a touch of cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.  When the fruit is soft and the taste is just right, we add the pectin to create a spread that tastes great warm or chilled with toast or oatmeal any morning.

  Strawberry-Rhubarb Jam

Based on the popular pie, we have developed this spread to be much lower in sugar than you might expect.  Actually, the jam has a higher content of rhubarb than strawberry, but the strawberry remains the primary flavor you taste in the jam.  Most of this jam spread is based on the never-sprayed strawberries and rhubarb from Sidhu Farm in Puyallup.  Thanks again for the amazing fruits!

  Tayberry Jam

A new berry for us this year.  We discovered Tayberries at McPhail's Berry Farm in Lynden, and have enjoyed working with them this spring.  This berry is a cross between an Aurora blackberry and a Scottish red raspberry.  We have been able to acquire just a few berries this year, as we introduce the taste.  If it proves successful, we will continue to offer it in the future.
